JOINT MEDIA STATEMENT FROM MAORI TELEVISION, MEDIAWORKS AND TVNZ - 16 Oct '09

 
There has been significant progress on a Rugby World Cup 2011 free-to-air broadcasting rights proposal to be put to the International Rugby Board, a joint statement from Maori Television, MediaWorks and TVNZ said.
 
Cabinet will be updated with developments on Monday, and next steps will be confirmed following Cabinet.
 
All three broadcasters are very pleased with progress to date.  There will be no further comment from the broadcasters at this time.
