TEAM TUA ON NATIVE AFFAIRS

Maori Television’s weekly indigenous current affairs series, NATIVE AFFAIRS, premieres in a new timeslot of 8.30 PM tonight – Monday April 19 – with an exclusive update by Team Tua.

David ‘Tuamanator’ Tua and his US-based promoter, Gotham Boxing president Cedric Kushner, will discuss the fighter’s ongoing TUA DE FORCE campaign to take out the world heavyweight championship title. Tua will be live in the studio with host Julian Wilcox to discuss the recent media controversy over his free-to-air broadcast agreement with Maori Television while Kushner will be speaking from New York about arrangements for the heavyweight’s next fight.

In other stories on NATIVE AFFAIRS tonight, Wena Harawira is in New York on the eve of an historic moment in New Zealand history; Makere Edwards reports on the plight of Australia’s National Indigenous Television (NITV); Chas Toogood documents a unique reunion at Rakaia River involving an indigenous people from North California; and Julian Wilcox also talks to Wayne Peters about calls to apologise to Maori players denied travel to South Africa.
