MAORI TELEVISION CONFIRMS INTERNATIONAL RUGBY LEAGUE

 The home of New Zealand rugby league, Māori Television, will screen delayed coverage of six international matches over the next six weeks.  

The line-up includes two historic centenary fixtures commemorating the birth of the international game as well as three tests in the United Kingdom and one in Paris, providing vital preparation as the Kiwis' eye their 2008 World Cup campaign in Australia.

  The commemorative matches include the Centenary Test against Australia in Wellington on Sunday October 14 and the Centenary International in Warrington a week later, when the 2007 version of the All Golds clash with Northern Union to mark the 100th anniversary of the trailblazing original All Golds' tour in 1907-08.  The schedule includes:   

2007 CENTENARY TEST: KIWIS V KANGAROOS – Sunday October 14 at 9.00 PM: Delayed coverage of today’s (Oct 14) Centenary Test between New Zealand and Australia at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium. The Kiwis play their last international rugby league test in New Zealand for 2007 before heading to the UK and Europe to take on Great Britain and France.  

 

2007 CENTENARY INTERNATIONAL: ALL GOLDS V NORTHERN UNION – Sunday October 21 at 12.00 PM: Delayed coverage of yesterday’s (Oct 20) Centenary International between NZ All Golds and Northern Union at Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington, UK – a special celebration of 100 years of global rugby league. Ruben Wiki will captain the All Golds which will reunite three New Zealand greats – Wiki, Stacey Jones and Nigel Vagana – for the last time.

 

2007 GILLETTE FUSION SERIES: KIWIS V GREAT BRITAIN – Sunday October 28 at 12.00 PM: Delayed coverage of yesterday’s (Oct 27) first test between New Zealand and Great Britain at Galpharm Stadium in Huddersfield, UK. Test series between Britain and New Zealand now play for the Baskerville Cup and this year’s affair will be a tough contest for new Kiwi coach Gary Kemble.

 

 2007 GILLETTE FUSION SERIES: KIWIS V GREAT BRITAIN – Sunday November 4 at 12.00 PM: Delayed coverage of yesterday’s (Nov 3) second test between New Zealand and Great Britain at Kingston Communications Stadium in Hull, UK.

 

 2007 GILLETTE FUSION SERIES: KIWIS V GREAT BRITAIN – Sunday November 11 at 12.00 PM: Delayed coverage of yesterday’s (Nov 10) third test between New Zealand and Great Britain at JJB Stadium in Wigan, UK.

 

 2007 FRENCH TEST: KIWIS V FRANCE – Sunday November 18 at 12.00 PM: Delayed coverage of yesterday’s (Nov 17) end-of-season test between New Zealand and France at Jean Bouin Stadium in Paris, France.  See both centenary celebration fixtures, all three British tests and the game against France – on Māori Television in October and November.
